Airport Transfers from Munich Airport (MUC) to Germering

Trusted by professionals at
One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: Terminal 1 to the Stadthalle on Landsberger Straße, Terminal 2 to a firm in the Germeringer Norden, or a hotel near Harthaus station back to MUC. For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time; for a departure, you set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: MUC to Germering on arrival, whether to the Stadthalle, an office in the Germeringer Norden or a private address, and back to the terminal for the flight out. For a guest booked for a single event, both dates are known in advance. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pickup times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at MUC, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

Munich Airport to Germering: Route and Drive Time

Germering is on the western edge of Munich, where the A96 to Lindau meets the A99 ring motorway, and the airport lies on the opposite side of the city. The transfer avoids the centre altogether: 47 km on the A92 and then the A99 round the north, usually 45 minutes to 1 hour. In the morning and evening peaks, the western part of the A99 is where the time grows.

Germering has two S-Bahn stations, Harthaus and Germering-Unterpfaffenhofen, and the town spreads between them. The Stadthalle on Landsberger Straße is close to Unterpfaffenhofen, while the Germeringer Norden business area, about 15 hectares, lies north of the centre and is reached from a different side of town. Knowing which of the two you need saves a detour at the end.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Munich Airport

Your ticket tells you which terminal to use; Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 form two halves of one main building, with the Munich Airport Center in the middle. Terminal 2 is the base of Lufthansa and the Star Alliance carriers; Terminal 1 handles the others, including Air France and Eurowings, and since April 2026 its non-Schengen traffic has used a newly built pier. Give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there.

For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.

The S8 from the airport calls at both Germering stations without a change, yet the stations are not your door; with cases or a group, a car is the shorter way to the actual address.

Arriving at Your Address in Germering

Addresses in Germering fall into three kinds. The Stadthalle, where concerts, conferences and celebrations take place, stands on Landsberger Straße, two minutes on foot from the Unterpfaffenhofen station. The firms of the Germeringer Norden have their offices and halls in the business area north of the centre. Everything else is mostly residential streets and the hotels near the stations.

For the Stadthalle, the venue's own address is clearer than the event name alone. Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up.

The town also makes a practical base for a trip west. Lindau and Lake Constance are reached on the A96 that starts at the edge of town, so a guest can land at MUC, sleep in Germering and continue the next day.

From Germering Back to Munich Airport

The return uses the same A99 round the north. Count 45 minutes to 1 hour from Germering to the terminals, and add time in the peaks, when the western part of the ring is slow. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

At MUC, the car drives to the terminal you give: Terminal 2 for Lufthansa and the Star Alliance, Terminal 1 for other airlines, both in the same main building. If you are flying outside the Schengen area from Terminal 1, the new pier is part of that terminal.

After an evening at the Stadthalle, a guest catching an early flight next morning may prefer to stay near the airport. In that case, book the first ride from the Stadthalle to the hotel and a second one from the hotel to the terminal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

Can the car take me from Germering on to the Messe München in Riem?

Yes, as a separate journey of 46 km, 45 minutes to 1 hour. The fair grounds have 18 halls on about 200,000 m², and the ICM congress centre takes up to 6,000 people. The triennial bauma next runs from 3 to 9 April 2028.

Which gates does Memmingen Airport use for flights outside the Schengen area?

Schengen flights use gates 1 to 7 on the ground floor, while non-Schengen flights use gates 23 to 25 and a variable gate on the upper floor.

How busy was Munich Airport in 2025?

It counted 43.4 million passengers, 4.4 per cent more than a year earlier.

Does the car go on from Germering to Garmisch-Partenkirchen?

Yes, as its own journey via the A95. Garmisch-Partenkirchen sits at the foot of the Zugspitze, whose summit reaches 2,962 m, and the car drives to the hotel in the resort.

Is the S8 from the airport an alternative for Germering?

Yes, it calls at Harthaus and Germering-Unterpfaffenhofen without a change, but it crosses the whole city first. A car takes the A99 instead and ends at your address, which is easier with luggage or for an event at the Stadthalle.

What do you need to know about Munich Airport in 2026–2027?

In September 2027 the region gets two busy weeks back to back: IAA Mobility from 7 to 12 September and then the Oktoberfest from 18 September to 3 October.
