Munich Airport to Augsburg: Route and Drive Time
Augsburg lies west of Munich in Bavarian Swabia, and the airport is north-east of the city, so the whole of Munich sits between them. The transfer is 89 km, usually 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes: from the terminal the car takes the A92, joins the A99 ring round the north of Munich and then follows the A8 west. The ring section carries the heaviest traffic, and in the morning and evening peaks it decides the timing.
Leaving the A8, the address sets the last part. The exhibition halls stand south of the centre, about 4 km from the Rathausplatz, so a car heading there does not need the old town at all. KUKA's headquarters is a separate destination in the city, and the Kongress am Park sits a few minutes from the Hauptbahnhof.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Munich Airport
Travellers to Augsburg land at one of two terminals at MUC, and the airline decides which. Terminal 2 belongs to the Lufthansa Group and the Star Alliance, with extra gates in a satellite building; Terminal 1 takes Condor, Eurowings, British Airways, Air France and others. Give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there. The Munich Airport Center, between the two terminals, links them.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
By train, the trip would mean the S-Bahn into Munich and a change onto a mainline train to Augsburg, with luggage carried across the Hauptbahnhof.

Arriving at Your Address in Augsburg
Augsburg's business visitors head for a few clear places. The Messe Augsburg, with 48,000 m² of indoor space in 12 halls and 16 conference rooms, is the third-largest exhibition centre in Bavaria; its halls lie south of the centre, and the gate you need depends on the fair. KUKA, the robot maker, has its head office in the city and has extended the site with a production hall, a training centre and an office tower. For smaller meetings there is the Kongress am Park, built around a main hall of roughly 1,000 m².
Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. On a large site, the building or hall number is as important as the street.
In Advent, the Christkindlesmarkt occupies the Rathausplatz from late November, which is worth knowing if your hotel stands on the square.

From Augsburg Back to Munich Airport
Plan the drive out by its duration: 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes from Augsburg to the terminal, and longer in the peaks, when the A99 north of Munich slows down. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
At MUC, the car heads for the departure terminal shown on your ticket: Terminal 2 if you fly Lufthansa or a Star Alliance partner, Terminal 1 for every other carrier.
On the Augsburg side, two seasons call for extra margin. The Herbstplärrer, the largest folk festival in Bavarian Swabia, runs from late August into September, and the Christkindlesmarkt brings evening crowds to the old town from late November. When the fair closes and your flight is that evening, the car can start from the Messe gate, saving a detour back into town.
