Leipzig/Halle Airport to Leipzig: Route and Drive Time
The airport lies at Schkeuditz, between Leipzig and Halle. From the terminal to the city centre it is 18 km on the A14, usually 30–40 minutes by car. A station beneath the terminal is the rail alternative.
A business trip may end before the car reaches the centre. The exhibition grounds, opened in 1996, are on the northern edge of the city, about 14 km from the terminal and also 30–40 minutes away, and the BMW and Porsche plants are in the north of Leipzig too. Only the hotels around the Markt and the Hauptbahnhof take the car right into town, where the last kilometres are slower than the motorway part.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. In book fair week, give the hall number along with the address, and for a plant, the gate you have been told to use.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Leipzig/Halle Airport
For passengers, LEJ is compact: you check in at the central terminal and board from Terminal B next door, with the railway station one level down. There is no terminal to choose in the booking.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
The airport is also the European air hub of DHL, with some 65 aircraft movements a night, so much of its traffic is freight. On the passenger side, the strongest markets are holiday ones, led by Turkey, Spain, Greece and Egypt, which means families coming back from a beach week share the building with fair visitors and engineers.

Arriving at Your Address in Leipzig
The Leipziger Messe has five halls with 111,300 m² of covered space, linked by the Glass Hall, a 238-metre structure of glass and steel. The Congress Center Leipzig is part of the same site, with 31 rooms and halls for 30 to 1,000 seats, so a fair day and a congress session can share one address. Name the hall or the CCL entrance in the booking.
Visits in the car industry lead to the plants. BMW has built cars in Leipzig since 2005, more than 1,000 a day from the 1 and 2 Series, and Porsche also builds cars in the city; a supplier or an auditor can ride from the terminal to the plant first and to the hotel later. Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. By rail, the S5 and S5X from the station below the terminal run through the Leipzig City-Tunnel.

From Leipzig Back to Leipzig/Halle Airport
For the return, start from the drive time: 30–40 minutes from the centre when traffic is light, longer in the rush hour on the A14 and in book fair week. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
At the airport end there is nothing to decide, as check-in for every flight is in the central terminal. The city end needs more thought. The Leipziger Buchmesse takes over the exhibition grounds each March, and traffic around the north of the city is heavier on those days. The grounds lie on the airport side of town.
A publisher's representative flying out after the final fair day can be collected at the Glass Hall instead of the hotel, which keeps the trip on the airport side of town. A congress delegate can be collected at the CCL entrance in the same way.
