Airport Transfers from Leipzig/Halle Airport (LEJ) to Halle

One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: the terminal to the Leopoldina, the airport to the Francke Foundations, or Halle Hauptbahnhof to LEJ for a holiday flight. For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time; for a departure, you set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: LEJ to a guest house near the Marktplatz or an institute on the Weinberg Campus, and back to the terminal when the conference closes. For festival guests with tickets for set June evenings, both dates are known before the trip anyway. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pickup times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at LEJ, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

Leipzig/Halle Airport to Halle: Route and Drive Time

In spite of its double name, the airport is nearer to Leipzig than to Halle. For Halle the trip is 28 km, usually 40–55 minutes, on the A14 motorway and then the B100 into the city. Halle has about 226,000 residents and is the second-largest city of Saxony-Anhalt.

The address in Halle decides the final part. The Hauptbahnhof, east of the centre, is the first landmark on the way in. The Francke Foundations stand at the edge of the old town, and the Weinberg Campus is a district of its own in the north, around Heide-Süd and Kröllwitz, with more than 100 companies and institutes, so the institute name matters more than the street when you book a ride there.

Journey times vary with traffic and weather. On a weekday morning, traffic on the A14 is what pushes the drive towards the upper figure.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Leipzig/Halle Airport

At LEJ, check-in happens in the central terminal and boarding in Terminal B, which is joined to it, while the station sits underneath. Nobody has to name a terminal when booking. The S-Bahn lines S5 and S5X from that station run to Halle.

For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.

Holiday routes carry much of the passenger traffic here: in 2025 the leading markets were Turkey, Spain, Greece and Egypt, and a return flight from the coast may land late in the evening. If the flight number is in the booking, the pickup simply moves to the later time, and the car still takes you from the terminal to your door in Halle.

Arriving at Your Address in Halle

Visitors to Halle often come for science. The Weinberg Campus counts more than 100 companies and institutes with around 6,000 jobs, with Max Planck, Fraunhofer, Leibniz and Helmholtz institutes beside the university, founded in 1694, and the Leopoldina, Germany's national academy of sciences, has its seat in the city. On a site of that size, the institute and the building make the address.

The baroque Francke Foundations mark the edge of the old town, and the Federal Cultural Foundation is also based in Halle. For a guest house near the Marktplatz, with the Red Tower and the four-towered Marktkirche, or a meeting at one of the foundations, give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up.

From Halle Back to Leipzig/Halle Airport

Count on 40–55 minutes from the centre of Halle to the terminal on an ordinary weekday; whether you need the longer figure depends mostly on the A14. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Check-in for every flight is in the central terminal, so the drop-off needs no further detail.

On the Halle side, June is the month to watch. The Händel-Festspiele bring concerts to the city each year, as they have since 1922, in the town where the composer was born. An ensemble flying out after the closing concert can be collected at the venue instead of the hotel, and a scientist leaving straight from a meeting at the Leopoldina can be picked up there. On the Burg Giebichenstein hill north of the centre, an art and design university occupies the lower castle, so name the building for a pickup there.
