Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport to Karlsruhe: Route and Drive Time
The airport, known locally as Baden-Airpark, lies on the Upper Rhine plain to the south, and Karlsruhe is 41 km north of it, normally 45 minutes to 1 hour by car. A short stretch on the L605 leads to the A5, and the motorway then runs north all the way to the city. Traffic on the A5 decides whether the drive stays near the 45 minutes.
The trip can end before the city itself. Messe Karlsruhe is not in Karlsruhe but in Rheinstetten, south-west of the centre and close to the A5 exit Karlsruhe-Süd, so on the way in from the airport a fair visitor reaches the halls first. Hotels, law firms and the Kongresszentrum are further on, in the city centre.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Put the flight number in the booking with the full address, and for the Messe add the hall.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport
Passenger numbers at FKB rose by a quarter in 2025, to almost 2.27 million, the first year above two million. The timetable is built around Ryanair, Wizz Air, Eurowings and TUI, with routes to places such as Mallorca, Greece, Croatia, Romania and Albania.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
The flight mix shapes the luggage. A business traveller with a cabin bag and a family returning from a long summer stay in the Balkans need different vehicles, so mention every suitcase, pushchair and child seat when you book. A lawyer heading for a hearing in Karlsruhe can add a document case to the list as well.

Arriving at Your Address in Karlsruhe
The Federal Constitutional Court has its seat in Karlsruhe, and visitors come for hearings, legal congresses or appointments with law firms. Court and firms are in the city centre, and the entrance you need may not be the one on the street you give, so name it.
A short walk from the Hauptbahnhof, four halls stand around the Festplatz: the Gartenhalle, the Schwarzwaldhalle, the Konzerthaus and the Stadthalle. Together they form the Kongresszentrum, with around 20,000 m² of exhibition space, and since several events can share it, the hall matters as much as the address. Out in Rheinstetten, the Messe adds 52,000 m² of halls and around 7,000 parking spaces.
Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up.

From Karlsruhe Back to Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport
Plan the trip back by its duration: 45 minutes to 1 hour from the centre of Karlsruhe to the terminal at Baden-Airpark, longer if the A5 is congested. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
Rheinstetten lies on the airport side of the city, which helps an exhibitor on the last fair day. The car can collect you at the hall once the stand is packed and take the A5 south directly, without a detour into the centre.
In winter the Christkindlesmarkt fills the Marktplatz and the Friedrichsplatz. A hotel close to either square needs more time for the pickup on market evenings and weekends.
A visitor leaving KIT Campus Nord, about 12 km north of the city, is collected at the gate: access is restricted, and visitors register there with ID and the name of their contact.
