Hamburg Airport to Pinneberg: Route and Drive Time
Pinneberg lies north-west of Hamburg, and from the airport the car crosses the northern districts of the city to join the A23. The distance is 33 km, usually 40–55 minutes; the lower figure is realistic outside the rush hours, while queues on the city stretch before the motorway push it up.
The A23 passes Pinneberg with three junctions, so the last part depends on the address. An office or business park beside the motorway is reached within minutes of leaving it. A tree nursery in the district can mean several kilometres of country lanes after the junction, and the town centre around the Drostei sits between the two.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. For a nursery, give the name of the grower and the exact yard address, as several firms can share one lane.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Hamburg Airport
Flights at HAM use Terminal 1 or Terminal 2, which stand on either side of the Airport Plaza; your ticket names the one you arrive at, and that is where the chauffeur comes. Security is centralised on the Plaza between them, and the S-Bahn station lies below.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
Public transport to Pinneberg works, but not directly: the S1 from the airport goes into the city, and Pinneberg is the end of the S3, so the trip needs a change in Hamburg. For a buyer with a case of catalogues or a family with luggage, a car from the terminal saves that change.

Arriving at Your Address in Pinneberg
Pinneberg is the seat of its district, a town of about 45,000 people, and business visits broadly fall into three kinds. The largest employer is Kemna, a road construction group employing over 2,200 people. District offices bring their own appointments. And the tree nurseries, which cover some 4,170 hectares around the town, draw buyers from garden centres and landscaping firms.
In the centre, the baroque Drostei from the 1760s is the town's cultural centre and a landmark for meetings nearby.
The station ends the S3, and regional trains go on to Itzehoe; a guest travelling on by rail can be dropped there.
Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. For a nursery, the gate of the sales yard is a clearer target than the office address on the letterhead.

From Pinneberg Back to Hamburg Airport
Heading back to HAM, plan with the journey time: 40–55 minutes from the centre of Pinneberg to the terminals when the A23 flows, longer once the morning queues build towards Hamburg. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
On the airport side, the only detail needed is the terminal on your ticket, Terminal 1 or Terminal 2. The central security check is on the Plaza between them, and about 90 per cent of passengers clear it in under 10 minutes.
A buyer who spends the last day out at the nurseries can be collected at the final yard instead of the hotel, which avoids the drive back into town. On the second weekend of August, SummerJazz brings concerts and visitors into the centre, so a hotel close to the stages needs extra time for the first few minutes.
