Frankfurt Airport to Frankfurt: Route and Drive Time
The airport lies 17 km south-west of the city centre, and a car normally covers the distance in 25–35 minutes. The usual route comes in on the B43 and B44, and in the rush hours or a fair week the drive moves towards the upper figure.
The last stretch depends on the address. The Messe grounds are on the western side of the city, about 14 km from Terminal 1 and 30–40 minutes away, so a car heading for a hall entrance has no need to cross the centre. The towers of the Bankenviertel stand in the middle of town, and the European Central Bank has its seat further east, in the Ostend, which means driving through the centre to reach it.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. When you book, name the terminal on your ticket and the full address: the hall for the Messe, the name of the tower for an office in the Bankenviertel.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Frankfurt Airport
In 2025, 63.2 million passengers used FRA, on flights by 94 airlines. Frankfurt works with two passenger terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. The SkyLine train needs about eight minutes between them, which shows how far apart the buildings are, so give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
Not everyone reaches FRA by air. The long-distance railway station stands next to Terminal 1, and some ICE services end at the airport rather than in the city. Add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.

Arriving at Your Address in Frankfurt
The centre is compact, but cars cannot reach every door. Since 1973 the Zeil, the city's principal shopping street, has been closed to traffic, and Frankfurt also has a low-emission zone (Umweltzone). If your hotel is on the Zeil or in the streets behind it, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go.
Business addresses fall into three areas. The banks occupy the high-rises of the Bankenviertel; the European Central Bank works from a tower in the Ostend that is joined to the former wholesale market hall. The Messe lies on the west side, some 4 km from the Römer, and has over 400,000 m² of halls plus more than 90 rooms for congresses and meetings. With a morning appointment, you can ride from the terminal to the office first and check in at the hotel afterwards.

From Frankfurt Back to Frankfurt Airport
For the trip out, plan by the length of the drive rather than by a time of day: from the centre it is 25–35 minutes on an ordinary weekday, longer in the rush hours and in fair weeks. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
At the airport, the terminal matters. Departures leave from Terminal 1 or Terminal 3, the two are some way apart, and your ticket says which one is yours; the car goes to that building.
On the city side, two seasons need more margin. In October, the week of the Buchmesse fills the area around the Messe, and from late November the Christmas market season brings crowds into the centre. A visitor flying home straight after the last fair day can book the pickup at the hall entrance instead of the hotel. From the Ostend the car crosses the whole centre first.
