Düsseldorf Airport to Remscheid: Route and Drive Time
Remscheid sits south-east of the airport, on the hills of the Bergisches Land. The drive is 49 km and normally takes 45 minutes to 1 hour: the A44 and the A3 bring you to the A46, and a country road, the L418, climbs the last stretch into town.
Up here the districts lie some way apart, and that shapes the end of the trip. Lennep, birthplace of Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen, is 6 km from the centre, so a visitor bound for the museum there arrives later than one heading for a hotel in town. The Vaillant Group runs its business from Berghauser Straße, another address entirely.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. The booking should carry the flight number and the complete address; outside the centre, add the district.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Düsseldorf Airport
Customers and suppliers of Remscheid's heating and tool firms come from many countries, and in summer DUS serves some 50 of them; in 2025 the airport counted 21 million passengers. All those flights use one terminal with three piers, A, B and C, so wherever you land, you come out into the same building and the booking needs no terminal.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
Remscheid is almost as close to Cologne Bonn as to DUS, so travellers sometimes fly into one and out of the other. Each direction is then a transfer of its own, booked with its own airport and flight.

Arriving at Your Address in Remscheid
Lennep is the address that brings visitors from far away. Röntgen, who discovered X-rays, was born there in 1845. Founded in 1932 where Lennep's old town ends, the Deutsches Röntgen-Museum is unique worldwide as a museum dedicated to the man and his discovery. His birthplace is in Lennep as well.
Industry gives Remscheid its other visitors. The Vaillant Group, a family company since 1874 that makes heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems, has its head office in the city, and the town's tool makers receive buyers and engineers through the year.
Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. For a factory, add the gate or the reception building, as the street address alone may lead to a delivery entrance.

From Remscheid Back to Düsseldorf Airport
Work out the pickup time from the drive itself. Count 45 minutes to 1 hour between the town centre and DUS; Lennep, 6 km further out, adds to that. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
At DUS all departures leave from the single terminal, so the car needs your flight number and nothing more.
Visitors sometimes end a stay down in the Wupper valley, where the Müngstener Brücke, the tallest railway bridge in the country, links Remscheid and Solingen. Built in 1897, it is 107 m high and 465 m long; a footpath on the bridge, the Brückensteig, opened in August 2021. Schloss Burg lies 9 km from the town centre. If your last afternoon is out there, give that address as the start of the ride to the airport.
