Dortmund Airport to Hamm: Route and Drive Time
Hamm lies north-east of the airport, at the point where the Ruhr gives way to the farmland of Westphalia. The drive covers 32 km on the A1 and the A2, plus a short stretch of country road near the terminal, and usually takes 40–55 minutes. The spread comes from the Kamener Kreuz, where the two motorways meet and where lorry traffic often slows to walking pace.
Once in Hamm, the addresses are fairly compact. The courts cluster in the centre, the Hauptbahnhof is close by, and Maximilianpark lies to the east of the city. A temple visit or a family address in an outer district adds a few minutes to the last part of the trip.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. If you are heading to a hearing, put the court and the hearing time in the booking along with your flight number.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Dortmund Airport
Every flight at DTM uses one passenger terminal, from Wizz Air and Eurowings to the Turkish carriers Pegasus and SunExpress. The booking therefore needs no terminal, and travellers from different airlines come out into the same building.
Before you land, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
For a lawyer with a morning hearing, the gap between landing and the court session can be short. The rail alternative from DTM means a bus to a station and then a change onto a train towards Hamm; the car leaves from the terminal and goes straight to the court building, with your files in the boot rather than on your lap.

Arriving at Your Address in Hamm
Courts define much of Hamm's traffic. Germany's biggest higher regional court, the Oberlandesgericht, has its seat in the city alongside other courts, so visiting counsel, witnesses and experts are regular arrivals. A court building is an easy target for the car: name the court and the entrance you need. The city of about 179,000 people on the Lippe has other addresses too. Its Art Deco Hauptbahnhof ranks among the major rail hubs of Germany. Maximilianpark is known for its glass elephant, built in 1984, and the Sri Kamadchi Ampal temple, consecrated in 2002, draws Hindu visitors from across the region. The Gustav-Lübcke-Museum, in a building of 1993, holds one of the largest Egyptian collections in Germany. Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up.

From Hamm Back to Dortmund Airport
To catch your flight, plan with the drive time, not the clock: from the centre of Hamm to the terminal it is 40–55 minutes, and the Kamener Kreuz can add to that in the afternoon rush. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it. DTM has one terminal, so the airport end of the trip is simple; the car pulls up at the departures entrance of that building. The uncertain part is the court, at Heßlerstraße 53. Hearings can run longer than planned, so if you fly home on the same day, leave a margin between the expected end of the session and the pickup. For a witness or an expert whose part ends at a known hour, a pickup at the court building is simpler than a dash to the station for a train. The Hauptbahnhof, whose first station building dates from 1847, is another possible pickup point close to the courts.
