Cologne Bonn Airport to Sankt Augustin: Route and Drive Time
Sankt Augustin sits between Bonn and Siegburg, south of the airport, and a car gets there on two motorways. From the terminals the drive follows the A59 and the A560: 21 km, 30–40 minutes normally. On weekday mornings the A59 near the airport is busier, and that is when the trip runs long.
What matters at the end is which institution you are visiting. The campus of the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences is near the town centre, on Stadtbahn line 66, which also links it to Bonn and Siegburg. The Fraunhofer Institute Center at Schloss Birlinghoven lies on the eastern edge, in a park setting, and the DGUV has its site at Hangelar.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. For a research site, the institute name and the building belong in the booking as much as the street.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Cologne Bonn Airport
Two terminals stand next to each other at CGN, and the airline decides which one you use. Eurowings and Lufthansa work mainly from Terminal 1, while Ryanair and several other carriers use Terminal 2; on foot the buildings are about ten minutes apart landside. The railway station beneath the terminals also receives ICE trains. Give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
A visiting scientist often arrives with a laptop bag and a poster tube, sometimes with a case of instruments. Mention such items when you book, and the car is chosen with room for them.

Arriving at Your Address in Sankt Augustin
The town is built around its research and teaching sites. More than 6,500 students are enrolled at the Sankt Augustin campus of the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences on Grantham-Allee 20, its main site, and the university's own Stadtbahn stop is a handy reference when you describe the address.
On the eastern side, Schloss Birlinghoven houses the Fraunhofer Institute Center, one of the largest informatics research centres in Germany, where some 600 researchers work in three institutes and a research unit. The grounds are large, so name the institute and the building, not only the castle.
Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. A hotel near the town centre, on the Stadtbahn line, is the easiest base if your days alternate between campus and institute.

From Sankt Augustin Back to Cologne Bonn Airport
Think in terms of the drive, not the departure board: from the centre of Sankt Augustin to the terminals it is 30–40 minutes, and the A59 near the airport can add time at rush hour. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
At CGN the car drops you at the terminal printed on your boarding pass, Terminal 1 or Terminal 2. If your airline changes the building at short notice, a quick message with the new terminal is enough.
On the town side, the planning point is your last appointment. A consortium meeting at Birlinghoven that ends at five sets a different pickup from an exam at the university that finishes before lunch, and the car can collect you at the institute entrance or the university stop rather than the hotel.
