Cologne Bonn Airport to Bonn: Route and Drive Time
The airport carries Bonn in its name, and the city lies to the south-west, across the Rhine. The car takes the A59 down the right bank: 25 km to the centre, normally 35–45 minutes. The river is what decides the end of the trip, since the centre, the former government quarter and Bad Godesberg all lie on the far bank.
That crossing has become the crucial point. The Nordbrücke, the A565 motorway bridge, has been fully closed since 3 June 2026, so traffic between the banks now uses the other Rhine bridges, and those carry the extra load at rush hour. An address on the right bank, in Beuel for example, avoids the river altogether.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Put the full address in the booking, including which bank of the Rhine it is on if you know it.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Cologne Bonn Airport
Which terminal you use at CGN is decided by the airline. Eurowings and Lufthansa mainly use Terminal 1; Ryanair and other carriers are based in Terminal 2, and walking between them landside takes around ten minutes. An underground railway station in front of both terminals is also served by ICE trains. Give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
Delegates bound for Bonn may connect at a hub on the way, through Frankfurt, Munich or Istanbul, and a missed connection moves the arrival by hours. With the flight number of the final leg in the booking, the pickup follows the plane you actually board.

Arriving at Your Address in Bonn
Much of Bonn's international business is concentrated by the river. In the former government quarter, 27 United Nations bodies share the UN Campus, and the climate secretariat is the biggest of them. Next door, the World Conference Center Bonn, opened in 2015, takes up to 5,000 participants.
Two corporate head offices are landmarks of their own: Deutsche Telekom, and DHL Group in the 162-metre Post Tower. For any of these addresses, the building and the entrance count, because security desks and visitor gates are not always at the street address.
Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. Hotels on the Rhine in Bad Godesberg and those near the Museumsmeile are both on the left bank, so the bridge closure applies to them.

From Bonn Back to Cologne Bonn Airport
Work back from departure time using the drive itself: 35–45 minutes between central Bonn and the terminals when traffic flows. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
From the left bank, the drive has to cross the Rhine on one of the bridges that remain open, and with the Nordbrücke shut they are busier at peak hours. A pickup from Bad Godesberg or the government quarter at 8 a.m. needs more margin than one from Beuel in the middle of the day.
The UN calendar adds its own peaks. In June, when the climate sessions end at the World Conference Center, delegations tend to leave on the same day, and the roads to the airport fill accordingly. A delegate with a late session can be collected at the conference centre itself. At the Post Tower or the Telekom headquarters, give the building and the entrance.
