Kelowna International Airport to Kelowna: Route and Drive Time
The airport sits at the north end of the city, so the transfer is a straight run south along Highway 97. The distance is 16 km, usually 20–25 minutes from the terminal to downtown.
Highway 97 is also Kelowna's main commercial artery, which means traffic lights and shopping-centre traffic in the final kilometres rather than open highway. Downtown and the lakefront are at the end of the route; addresses in West Kelowna continue across Okanagan Lake on the William R. Bennett Bridge, the only road link between the two, where traffic often slows.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Add the hotel, winery or street address to the booking.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Kelowna International Airport
YLW handles all its flights in one terminal on Highway 97, and in 2025 it counted 2,315,432 passengers. It has no US preclearance, so passengers arriving from the US clear Canadian customs here on landing, and that can add time before you walk out.
On arrival, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
Public transport is limited: there is no rail link, and the airport bus routes do not run in the evenings or on weekends, which is when many leisure flights arrive.

Arriving at Your Address in Kelowna
Kelowna stretches along the east shore of Okanagan Lake. According to Tourism Kelowna, the city itself has over 25 wineries, and the total approaches 40 when West Kelowna and Lake Country are included, so a first night on a vineyard estate is a common plan.
Send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop. Wineries and lakeside resorts often have long private drives or several buildings, so name the lodge or reception.
UBC Okanagan is directly across the highway from the airport, about 20 minutes from downtown, which makes a campus address one of the shortest rides from YLW.

From Kelowna Back to Kelowna International Airport
Going back, count 20–25 minutes from downtown up Highway 97 to YLW, and more from West Kelowna, since the bridge is frequently congested. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
Flights to the US leave without preclearance, so you deal with US formalities on arrival at your destination rather than at YLW.
On a winter morning, snow on the highway can slow the drive, and in summer the lake traffic builds on Fridays and Sundays. A small margin keeps a short transfer from becoming a rushed check-in.
