Lisbon Airport to Cascais: Route and Drive Time
Cascais is 38 km from Lisbon Airport, at the western end of the A5. The car crosses Lisbon to join the motorway, follows it past Oeiras, Carcavelos and Estoril, and comes off where it finishes above the town. The drive usually takes 35–55 minutes.
The spread of that range comes from the calendar more than the distance. A weekday landing meets the Lisbon rush at the start of the motorway; a Saturday morning in summer meets the beach traffic heading the same way as you. Once off the A5, the bay and the marina are a few minutes down the hill, while Guincho, on the open Atlantic side, is further on through the natural park.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Put your flight number and the full address in the booking: in Cascais, the bay, the Estoril side and Guincho are three different endings to the same route.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Lisbon Airport
Whichever airline brings you, the arrival is at Terminal 1: Lisbon has a second terminal, but only for low-cost departures. For a family with pushchairs, beach bags and golf clubs, that means one hall and one exit.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules. On a summer Saturday this counts twice over: a late landing does not leave you in the queue for a car just as the A5 fills with beach traffic.
The airport is planning a larger Terminal 1 and more aircraft stands, with building work alongside normal operations. A new airport for Lisbon, Luís de Camões, is expected to open from 2035; until then, every arrival for Cascais comes through Terminal 1.

Arriving at Your Hotel or Villa in Cascais
The old centre of Cascais is built around a small bay, with the marina and the railway station beside it. Eastwards the coast runs on through Monte Estoril and Estoril; westwards the road leads to the beach at Guincho and into the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, where many holiday houses stand apart from the town.
For a hotel on the bay, the street address is enough. For a villa, send the name of the house, the gate code if the owner gave you one, and a note if the drive is steep or narrow, so the vehicle suits the access.
Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. The same address details help on the day you leave.

From Cascais Back to Lisbon Airport
Leaving Cascais, the useful thing to know is how long the road takes, not when to leave: 35–55 minutes to the terminal, longer in heavy traffic. The pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.
Two times on the A5 deserve room in the plan: weekday mornings, when the motorway carries the coast into Lisbon, and summer Sunday evenings, when the beach traffic goes home. A villa at Guincho adds the drive back through the park before the motorway begins.
Name the airline when you book: low-cost flights leave from Terminal 2, all others from Terminal 1. If you spend the last nights in Lisbon, 31 km from Cascais, book the move to the city hotel and the airport run as two separate transfers.
