Airport Transfers from Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RTM) to Amsterdam

One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: RTM to a hotel on the Canal Ring, the airport to an office tower in Zuidas, or a hotel near the RAI back to the terminal for your flight out. For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. For a departure, the pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: RTM to your hotel in the capital on arrival day, and from that hotel back to RTM on the day you leave. September is the month to settle both legs at once, as the IBC broadcasting show fills the RAI and cars and drivers around the city are reserved long in advance. You choose both pickup times, and your confirmation shows them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at RTM, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

Rotterdam The Hague Airport to Amsterdam: Route and Drive Time

Amsterdam is 74 km from Rotterdam The Hague Airport. The car heads north on the A13 past Delft, joins the A4 past Leiden and Schiphol, and enters the city from the A10 ring. In normal traffic the drive takes 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes.

Both ends of the route carry commuter traffic. The A13 between Rotterdam and The Hague is heavily used, with the airport right beside it; at the Amsterdam end the southern A10 slows in the weekday peaks, and some weekends bring Zuidasdok roadworks that shut parts of the A4 and of the ring's southern section.

The RAI and the Zuidas towers are just off the southern side of the ring, which makes them the first Amsterdam addresses you reach. A hotel on the Canal Ring means a further stretch through city streets. Journey times vary with traffic and weather.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Rotterdam The Hague Airport

Anyone who knows Schiphol will find RTM simpler. Schiphol has four numbered arrivals halls, and construction for the new Pier A continues until it opens in April 2027. Rotterdam The Hague Airport, run by the same operator, Royal Schiphol Group, has one small terminal and one way out, so there is no hall number to pass on and no building work to route around.

For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules. On a run of more than an hour to Amsterdam, that matters: a delay at departure moves the whole transfer back, rather than leaving a car booked for a time that has passed.

Arriving at Your Address in Amsterdam

A low-emission zone, the milieuzone, covers most of Amsterdam within the A10. Among cars, only diesel is affected: a diesel needs at least emissions class 5 to enter, and cars running on petrol, LPG or electricity face no restriction under it. For diesel coaches the minimum is class 6. Cameras reading number plates enforce it around the clock.

Hotels are concentrated in the historic centre within the Canal Ring; for such a hotel, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can get. The business district of Zuidas lies to the south along the ring, with RAI Amsterdam, the largest convention centre in the Netherlands, on its edge, and both are simple addresses to reach by car.

Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up.

From Amsterdam Back to Rotterdam The Hague Airport

Leaving Amsterdam, the useful thing to know is how long the road takes, not when to leave: 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes to Rotterdam The Hague Airport, longer in heavy traffic. The pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.

From a Canal Ring hotel the first half hour is city streets and the A10; from Zuidas the car is on the ring almost at once. RTM has a single terminal, so no terminal is needed at booking.

If your return flight leaves from Schiphol instead, the airport is 22 km from central Amsterdam, 20–45 minutes by road, and the pickup is booked in the same way from your hotel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

How long is the transfer from Rotterdam The Hague Airport to Amsterdam?

Amsterdam is 74 km from the airport on the A13, A4 and A10, and the drive takes 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes. The A13 near the airport and the southern A10 in the weekday peaks decide most of the difference.

Why land at Rotterdam The Hague Airport for Amsterdam rather than Schiphol?

Schiphol is much closer, 22 km from the centre. RTM is the choice when your airline flies there and not to Schiphol, or when you have meetings in Rotterdam, Delft or The Hague before Amsterdam.

Can the car reach my hotel in central Amsterdam?

Nearly all of Amsterdam within the A10 is a low-emission zone, though for passenger cars it only concerns older diesels. Include the hotel's street address when booking, and we will tell you how close the car can get.

Where can a coach set our group down in central Amsterdam?

Inside the S100 ring, a coach above 7.5 tonnes may only drive with an exemption; otherwise the group gets off on the ring itself or at De Ruijterkade Oost. Include the hotel address when booking, and we will tell you the nearest point the coach can reach.

Our delegates land at RTM on different flights for a congress at the RAI. How do we book?

Each arrival is booked as its own transfer, with a vehicle sized to the people and bags on that flight. If you book for others, the whole programme can sit in one account, and each transfer is booked and confirmed separately.

Is a chauffeur service from Rotterdam The Hague Airport to Amsterdam the same as a taxi?

Dutch law treats paid passenger transport by car as taxi transport, chauffeur services booked in advance included; above eight passengers, the rules for private coach transport apply. What differs is the arrangement: the ride is booked before you travel instead of taken at a taxi rank, the vehicle and time are settled when you book, and your confirmation says where to meet. On an airport pickup the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time.
