Schiphol to The Hague: Route and Drive Time
The Hague lies 45 km south-west of Schiphol. The car follows the A4 south past Leiden and enters the city on one of two motorways, depending on the address: the A12 runs in beside Den Haag Centraal and the government quarter, and the A44 comes down from the north through Wassenaar. In normal traffic the drive takes 45 minutes to 1 hour.
The weekday peaks on the A4 and on the approach roads into the city account for most of the spread between those two figures. Once inside The Hague, the International Zone, the centre and Scheveningen are only a few kilometres apart, but they are reached by different streets.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Give the name of the hotel, ministry or organisation with your flight number, so the transfer is set up for that building and not for the city in general.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Schiphol
A delegation seldom lands on a single plane. Schiphol has only one terminal building, but it has four numbered arrivals halls, and each flight is assigned one of them. Two colleagues landing twenty minutes apart from different capitals may therefore come out in different halls, so each arrival is met separately.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules. An adviser whose connection runs late does not hold up the head of delegation who arrived on time: each car leaves when its own passenger is through.
Schiphol is in the middle of a long renewal programme, with a record level of investment in 2026, so screens around building sites and the occasional change of gate are part of the airport for now.

Arriving at Your Address in The Hague
Addresses in The Hague fall into a few distinct districts, and the one you are going to decides the last part of the approach from Schiphol. Ministries and large offices are in the Beatrixkwartier beside Den Haag Centraal, reached directly off the A12. Hotels sit in the old centre around the Binnenhof and along the coast at Scheveningen. Between the two lies the International Zone, with the World Forum, which holds up to 5,000 people, and many of the roughly 160 international organisations based in the city.
The city centre is a low-emission zone, closed to older diesel cars and buses; petrol and electric cars are not affected. Courts and international bodies apply their own rules to vehicles at the gate, so for such an address send the entrance with the booking and we will tell you the nearest point a car can reach.
Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. For a hearing or an accreditation, add the entrance you have been given.

From The Hague Back to Schiphol
Leaving The Hague, the useful thing to know is how long the road takes, not when to leave: 45 minutes to 1 hour to Schiphol, longer in heavy traffic. The pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.
The road back runs north on the A4 past Leiden. When a conference or a summit closes, members of the same delegation often fly out at different hours; each departure is then booked from the hotel or the venue for its own flight, rather than one car for everyone.
Flying home from RTM instead? That airport is much nearer: 19 km from the centre of The Hague, usually 20–30 minutes on the A13. Name the airport in the booking, since both serve The Hague.
