Schiphol to Rotterdam: Route and Drive Time
Rotterdam is 60 km south of Schiphol. The car takes the A4 south past Leiden and Delft, then the A13 for the final stretch into the city, running past Rotterdam The Hague Airport on the way. The drive takes 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes.
Commuters fill the A13 from The Hague down to Rotterdam, and it is on that road, not on the A4, that the morning and evening peaks cost the most time. The city itself is split by the Nieuwe Maas: the centre, Rotterdam Centraal and the Coolsingel are on the north bank, which the car reaches first, while Kop van Zuid, Wilhelminapier and Ahoy lie across the river.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. An address south of the river adds a bridge or tunnel crossing to the trip, so include the full street address with your flight number.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Schiphol
Schiphol handled 68.8 million passengers in 2025, all through one terminal building. After baggage reclaim and customs, each flight is let out into its own hall, one of four numbered ones.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules. On a drive of more than an hour this sets the whole afternoon: if a session at Ahoy starts at a fixed hour, the arrival time in Rotterdam follows the real landing rather than the scheduled one, and you know early how much margin is left.
Inside the terminal, construction of the new Pier A continues; the pier is scheduled to open in April 2027, with the building work due to be handed over at the end of 2026.

Arriving at Your Address in Rotterdam
The north bank holds most hotels, around Rotterdam Centraal and the Coolsingel. Kop van Zuid, over the Erasmus Bridge, is now the city's other office quarter, with the cruise terminal at the end of Wilhelminapier. Further south, next to the A15 in Hart van Zuid, Rotterdam Ahoy hosts the large congresses; its main auditorium, the RTM Stage, has 2,816 seats.
For a cruise, the ship and the embarkation day go in the booking, and the drive ends at the terminal building rather than a hotel in town. For a congress at Ahoy, name the entrance printed on your badge or programme, as the complex has several.
Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. The same applies when the address is a port company in the harbour area.

From Rotterdam Back to Schiphol
Leaving Rotterdam, the useful thing to know is how long the road takes, not when to leave: 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes to Schiphol, longer in heavy traffic. The pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.
The return runs north on the A13 and then the A4, and the evening peak on the A13 is the stretch to allow for. Whatever the airline, the car sets you down at the one terminal building.
A cruise that ends in Rotterdam can finish with a flight from Schiphol. Book the pickup at the cruise terminal on Wilhelminapier, give the ship and the day it docks, and choose a pickup time that leaves room for disembarking with luggage. The transfer then runs from the quay straight to the terminal at Schiphol.
