Airport Transfers from Verona Villafranca Airport (VRN) to Verona

One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: Verona Airport to a hotel near the Arena, the terminal straight to Veronafiere on the opening day of a fair, or a hotel in Borgo Trento to your departing flight. For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. For a departure, the pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: Villafranca to your Verona hotel on arrival day, and a second leg to Villafranca when you leave. The pressure comes in April, with Vinitaly at Veronafiere, and on opera evenings from June to mid-September, so book the return leg at the same moment as the arrival. You choose both pickup times, and your confirmation shows them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at VRN, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

Verona Airport to Verona: Route and Drive Time

Verona Airport lies at Villafranca, south-west of the city, 13 km by road from the old town. In normal traffic it is 25–35 minutes, most of it on fast roads across the plain before the city streets begin.

The last part decides the time. Veronafiere, the exhibition grounds in the south of the city, is on the near side, close to the Verona Sud motorway exit, while an address inside the bend of the Adige, around Piazza delle Erbe or Castelvecchio, takes longer because the car has to reach it through the centre. Borgo Trento and Valdonega, north of the river, are further again.

Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Give the hotel with your flight number, not simply "Verona centre".

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Verona Airport

Verona's airport is one building. Departures are signed Terminal 1 and arrivals Terminal 2, so when you land you come out in the Terminal 2 arrivals area, whatever the airline.

For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules. On a short run into the city, a late landing simply moves the car to the new time.

The terminal has just been enlarged: the Progetto Romeo works ended in February 2026, with more departure space and 19 gates instead of 13. In 2025 the airport handled about 4 million passengers, a record for Verona, so the arrivals area can be busy at peak hours.

Arriving at Your Address in Verona

Verona's old town, inside the loop of the river, with Piazza Bra, the Arena, Piazza delle Erbe and Castelvecchio, is a ZTL with camera gates. Since October 2024 it has been open to general traffic only in set time windows, and outside them a vehicle needs prior authorisation. Hotels in Borgo Trento, across the river, and near Porta Nuova station sit outside it.

A second limited zone, around the Bentegodi stadium, comes into force on Hellas Verona home match days. If you land on a match day and your hotel is in that district, mention it with the booking.

Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. For the fair, give the Veronafiere entrance printed on your badge.

From Verona Back to Verona Airport

Leaving Verona, the useful thing to know is how long the road takes, not when to leave: 25–35 minutes from the historic centre to Villafranca, longer in heavy traffic. The pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.

The car sets you down at Terminal 1, the departures side of the building. On an opera night the last performance ends late, so an early flight next morning may be easier from a hotel outside the ZTL.

Some visitors fly home from elsewhere. When the last nights are by the lake, Sirmione is 42 km from Verona, and a transfer from the lake to Villafranca is booked in the same way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

How long does it take from Verona Airport to the centre of Verona?

Villafranca is 13 km from the old town by road, normally 25–35 minutes. An address near Veronafiere, in the south of the city, is reached sooner than one inside the bend of the Adige.

Where do I meet my chauffeur at Verona Airport?

All arrivals come out in the Terminal 2 arrivals area; Terminal 1 is the departures side of the same building. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet your chauffeur.

Can the car reach my hotel in the ZTL?

It depends on the hotel and the time. Since October 2024 the centre has been open to general traffic only in set windows, with camera gates. Send the full address with your booking, and we confirm whether the car can reach the entrance or where the nearest drop-off point is.

When is it hardest to book a car in Verona?

In April, when Vinitaly fills Veronafiere, and on the Arena opera evenings from June to mid-September. Book those dates early; local vehicles and drivers are committed well ahead.

Can I go straight from Verona Airport to Lake Garda?

Yes. Give the lake hotel as the destination. Sirmione is 42 km from Verona and Riva del Garda 87 km; the airport sits south-west of the city, towards the lake.

Which terminal do I go to for my flight home?

Departures are Terminal 1. The car sets you down there, 25–35 minutes from the centre in normal traffic.
