Venice Marco Polo to Padua: Route and Drive Time
From Marco Polo to Padua is 45 km, westwards. The route uses the A57 round Mestre, joins the A4 towards Milan and leaves it at Padova Est, the exit signed for the Fiera. The drive usually takes 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Most of the time is motorway; the Mestre bypass at peak hours is where it varies. Padova Congress and the Fiera are on the east side of the city, close to the station, so they come first. The old centre, around the university and the squares, takes a few more minutes, and Abano Terme, on the far side of Padua, adds the 11 km across town.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Name your first address, hotel or venue, alongside the flight.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Venice Marco Polo
Delegates for Padua arrive at the same terminal as everyone else: Marco Polo has one, with arrivals on level 0. You come out at the arrivals exit, short of the walkway to the Venice boats and buses.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules. If the flight lands late on the eve of a congress, the transfer to Padua still runs at the new time.
Rail is coming to the airport: an underground station is planned to open about the end of 2026, and Padua is one of the cities it will link. Until then, and for delegates with poster tubes and luggage afterwards, the car goes from the arrivals exit to the hotel without a change.

Arriving at Your Address in Padua
For congress visitors the address is often Padova Congress, the Kengo Kuma building on the Fiera site, roughly half a kilometre from Padova station. It is on the east side of the centre, easily reached from the A4.
Hotels are spread between the station area, the historic centre and Abano Terme to the south-west. The historic centre is a ZTL, and camera gates record every vehicle going in and out, so for an address inside it, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you the nearest point a car can reach.
Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. For the congress, give the hall or entrance named in your registration.

From Padua Back to Venice Marco Polo
Leaving Padua, the useful thing to know is how long the road takes, not when to leave: 45 minutes to 1 hour from the centre to Marco Polo, longer in heavy traffic. The pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.
Every flight at Marco Polo leaves from one terminal, so the flight number is enough. From Abano Terme, allow for the 11 km through Padua before the motorway.
When the trip finishes with some days in Venice, set Piazzale Roma as the drop-off, 40 km from Padua, and the airport transfer is booked from there later. For a flight from Treviso instead, the airport is 55 km from Padua on the A4.
