Naples Airport to the City: Route and Drive Time
Capodichino is inside the city: the airport lies 7 km north-east of the centre, and the drive usually takes 20–25 minutes. Its main road link is the A56, the tangenziale, the urban motorway that runs across the north of Naples to the western districts.
Which road the car takes depends on where you are staying. For Vomero, Chiaia or Posillipo the tangenziale is the usual way round the centre. For Piazza Garibaldi, the port and the old town, the route runs down through the city streets, and there the hour of arrival sets the time more than the kilometres do.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Put the hotel's street, not just its name, next to your flight number: in Naples two addresses a kilometre apart can mean two quite different routes from the airport.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Naples Airport
Every flight at Capodichino uses the same terminal and ends in the same arrivals hall, so a domestic hop and a long-haul arrival come out through one door.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules. If you are heading for a boat that same afternoon, give the sailing time too, so the booking shows how the flight and the pier connect.
Two dated changes matter here. From 1 to 30 November 2026 Capodichino is shut for runway and taxiway works, and airlines send those flights elsewhere, most of them to Salerno Costa d'Amalfi, run by the same operator, and the rest to Rome. A metro extension linking the terminal to the railway station should open between late 2026 and the first months of 2027.

Arriving at Your Address in Naples
Naples has several separate ZTL zones rather than one, each with its own boundary and hours and all watched by camera gates. Among them are the Centro Antico, the streets around Piazza Dante and Via Toledo, and two zones in Chiaia that are closed to unauthorised traffic around the clock. Some streets inside them are fully pedestrian.
The port is part of the centre. Cruise ships use Molo Angioino, where the Stazione Marittima stands, and the boats for the islands, Capri, Ischia and Procida, sail from Molo Beverello next door, a pedestrian-only pier. For a boat, give the pier and the departure time instead of a hotel. For trains, the main station is Napoli Centrale on Piazza Garibaldi.
Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. For a hotel inside one of the zones, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can go.

From Naples Back to Capodichino
Leaving Naples, the useful thing to know is how long the road takes, not when to leave: 20–25 minutes from the centre to Capodichino, longer in heavy traffic. The pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.
The airport has one terminal, so the booking only needs your address and flight. Many stays end in a different place from where they began: back from Ischia or Capri at Molo Beverello, off a ship at the Stazione Marittima, or off a train at Napoli Centrale. Each of those works as the pickup point, 7 km or so from the terminal, and the car goes from the pier or the station straight to departures.
For a last morning at Pompeii, 26 km from the city, book a transfer to the site and a second one from Pompeii to the airport.
