Getting Around Kavala
Kavala is built on the slopes around its bay. The old town sits on the Panagia peninsula under the castle, the modern centre runs along the seafront to the west, and the 16th-century Kamares aqueduct links the two. Cruise ships call at the central port, Apostolos Pavlos, right below Panagia, and ferries leave the same port for Skala Prinou on Thassos. Ferries to Thassos town sail from Keramoti, 39 km east.
Kavala is not on the railway. The nearest station is at Drama, 37 km inland, on the Thessaloniki–Alexandroupoli line. For a train into Drama, add the train and its arrival time to the booking, and the car is scheduled for that arrival.
Guests leaving for the Thassos ferry at Keramoti can be booked from the centre as a one-way transfer; for an afternoon of meetings in town, hourly service reserves one chauffeur and one vehicle for the hours you choose.
In Panagia, give the hotel name as well as the street. Send the full street address when you book, and support will say how close to the hotel a car can get.

Airport Transfers in Kavala
Kavala International Airport is 30 km east of the city. The drive runs west on the A2 Egnatia Odos and usually takes 40–55 minutes. Depending on your airline and route, the alternative is Thessaloniki Airport, 173 km west on the same motorway: 2 hours 10 minutes to 2 hours 55 minutes by car.
Most of the run is motorway. The airport is close to Keramoti, so guests heading straight for the Thassos ferry do not need to come into Kavala at all. Journey times vary with traffic and weather.
For arrivals, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Kavala, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: 40–55 minutes from the centre to the airport, longer in heavy traffic. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Cross-Border Travel from Kavala
Thessaloniki is 154 km west on the A2 Egnatia Odos, 1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes by car. A few days in Kavala followed by a fair or meetings in Thessaloniki need only one booking: the car leaves from your Kavala hotel and arrives at the next address with all the luggage on board.
Bulgaria is across the Rhodope Mountains. Plovdiv is 264 km north on mountain roads via the Nymfaia crossing, 4 hours to 5 hours 25 minutes by car. You travel with the same chauffeur and car from start to finish, with no change of vehicle at the border.
Greece and Bulgaria are both full Schengen members. Bring the travel documents required for your nationality and your route.

Custom Solutions in Kavala
A trip through Kavala can have several legs. The airport is close to Keramoti, the port for Thassos town, so a group can go from the plane to the ferry, spend a few days on the island and come back through Kavala for meetings in Drama or Xanthi. Cruise passengers who come ashore at Apostolos Pavlos may want a car only for the hours the ship is in port; Philippi is 17 km inland. Legs like these can be planned together and booked as separate transfers or as hourly service.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation; when the group arrives on several flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. A Sprinter van takes up to 12 people with their bags; larger groups travel by coach, with up to 56 seats, chosen to fit the group and its luggage.
Book early for July and August, the months of the Philippi Festival: local vehicles and drivers are booked up early. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
