Getting Around Kalamata
Kalamata climbs from the sea up to its 13th-century castle. The historic centre, with 23 Martiou Square and Aristomenous, the main shopping street, sits below the castle. The Navarinou seafront, where many hotels are, begins about 2.5 km to the south. The largest meeting venue in the area is outside the city: the House of Events at Costa Navarino, with over 5,000 m² and room for up to 1,600 guests, is 54 km away by road.
Kalamata has no regular passenger trains. The Peloponnese metre-gauge network has been out of service since 2011, and the old station by the harbour is now the Municipal Railway Park. Guests arrive by air, or by road on the A7 Moreas motorway from Athens.
Visits here often mix the city and the coast: Kardamyli, for example, is 35 km along the Mani coast. A single run there is a one-way or round-trip booking; for a full day out, hourly service reserves one chauffeur and one vehicle for the hours you choose.
For a hotel in the old town, give the hotel name as well as the street. Send the full street address when you book, and support will say how close to the hotel a car can get.

Airport Transfers in Kalamata
Kalamata International Airport is 8 km west of the city, on the Kalamata–Pylos road. The drive usually takes 20–25 minutes. If your airline and route do not serve Kalamata, the alternative is Athens International Airport, 268 km away on the A7, the A8 and the Attiki Odos: 3 hours 15 minutes to 4 hours 25 minutes by car.
The A7 Moreas motorway runs from Corinth all the way to Kalamata and ends as the city's ring road, so almost all of the long run from Athens is motorway. The airport is on the western side, towards Pylos and Costa Navarino, which keeps resort transfers out of the city centre. Journey times vary with traffic and weather.
For arrivals, your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For a departure from Kalamata, what counts is the length of the drive, not the time on the clock: 20–25 minutes from the centre to the airport, longer in heavy traffic. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Multi-City Travel from Kalamata
Athens is 238 km away on the A7 Moreas and the A8 Olympia Odos, 3 hours to 4 hours 5 minutes by car. When a stay in Messinia ends with meetings in Athens, or with a flight home from there, the car goes from your Kalamata hotel to the Athens address as a single booking, luggage and all.
Patras, in the north-west of the Peloponnese, is 204 km away. The route passes close to Ancient Olympia, 121 km from Kalamata. A transfer to Patras can start from a hotel in the city or from a resort on the coast.

Custom Solutions in Kalamata
Some trips to Kalamata do not fit a single transfer. A week can combine a hotel in the city, a few nights at a resort in Costa Navarino, 54 km west, and a day at Ancient Messene or in the Mani, with the flight in at Kalamata and the flight home from Athens International Airport, 268 km away. A company event at Costa Navarino, where the House of Events takes up to 1,600 guests, can bring dozens of arrivals over one day, each needing its own car or van.
When you book for other people, all their transfers can be kept in one account, each with its own booking and confirmation; when guests fly in at different times, every arrival gets a transfer of its own. A Sprinter van takes up to 12 people with their bags; larger groups travel by coach, with up to 56 seats, chosen to fit the group and its luggage.
Book early for the second half of July, when the International Dance Festival is on: local vehicles and drivers are booked up early. If your plans go beyond a standard booking, write to support with the dates, addresses, number of passengers, flights and luggage, and the team will arrange it.
