Airport Transfers from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP) to Nerja

One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: the terminal to a villa on the road up to Frigiliana, the arrivals level to an apartment above Burriana beach, or a hotel close to the Balcón de Europa back to AGP. For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. For a departure, the pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: Málaga Airport to Nerja when you arrive, and Nerja to the terminal for the flight home, a drive of 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes each way. In July and August, and in October, when the town holds its Feria for its patron saints, cars and drivers along this coast go early, so fix the return with the arrival. You choose both pickup times, and your confirmation shows them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at AGP, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

Málaga Airport to Nerja: Route and Drive Time

Nerja is 65 km east of Málaga Airport, near the eastern end of the Málaga coast. The car goes round Málaga on the MA-20 ring road and continues east on the A-7, the Mediterranean motorway, through the Axarquía coast; Torrox, 12 km short of Nerja, is the last town before the Nerja turn-offs. Expect 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes on the road.

Where you stay decides the final part of the drive. Hotels by the Balcón de Europa are in the town itself; villas in the hills behind Nerja and houses in Frigiliana, 7 km inland, mean a climb after leaving the motorway.

Journey times vary with traffic and weather. For a villa in the hills rather than a hotel in town, add any access directions you have from the owner to the flight number.

Málaga Airport to Nerja: Route and Drive Time

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Málaga Airport

Nerja is an hour's drive from the terminal, so the arrival matters more than on the short runs to the west. At Málaga, T2 and T3 are joined, and every arriving flight empties onto a shared arrivals floor.

For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules. An evening flight that lands late still starts the drive east as soon as you are through, and your arrival in Nerja follows about an hour after that.

Aena plans an extension of the terminal, with a new pier for flights from outside the Schengen area and a reorganised security and passport control zone. It is part of the 2027–2031 investment cycle; for now nothing about arriving has changed.

Arriving at Your Hotel or Villa in Nerja

The centre of Nerja is its old town, which ends at the Balcón de Europa, a promenade on the cliff above the coves of Calahonda and La Caletilla. The Balcón itself is for pedestrians only, and the lanes of the old town behind it are tight, so for a hotel beside it we will tell you the nearest street the car can reach.

Many stays are outside the centre: villas in the hills behind the town, apartments above Burriana beach, or houses in Frigiliana, the white village about 320 m up and about 7 km inland by road. Maro, 5 km east, is the village by the Cueva de Nerja.

Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. For a villa reached by a private track, give the name of the track and a landmark at its start.

Arriving at Your Hotel or Villa in Nerja

From Nerja Back to Málaga Airport

Leaving Nerja, the useful thing to know is how long the road takes, not when to leave: 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes to AGP, longer in heavy traffic. The pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.

The way back is the same road in reverse: the A-7 west along the coast, then round Málaga to the terminal. From a villa in the hills, count the minutes down to the A-7 as well.

Some holidays end elsewhere. Málaga is 57 km from Nerja, 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes, for a few nights in the city before the flight. Granada is about 94 km north-east, 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes, and the town has no railway, so either move is a single transfer from your hotel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

How far is Nerja from Málaga Airport?

65 km east. The car goes round Málaga on the MA-20 and continues on the A-7 along the coast, and the drive usually takes 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes, a little more in the morning and evening peaks.

Which airport should I fly to for Nerja?

Usually Málaga-Costa del Sol (AGP), 65 km away. Granada Airport (GRX) is about 105 km, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes, and is worth it only when your airline flies there.

Is there a train from Málaga to Nerja?

No. There is no railway line to Nerja; long-distance trains terminate at María Zambrano in Málaga, about 60 km to the west. From the airport or the station the rest of the journey is by road.

Where will I meet my chauffeur at Málaga Airport?

T2 and T3 at Málaga form one connected building, with a single arrivals level for every flight. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet.

What happens if my flight to Málaga is late?

The pickup moves with it: the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. The hour-long drive to Nerja then starts from the new landing time.

Can the car take me to the Balcón de Europa?

The Balcón de Europa is a pedestrian promenade, and the old streets around it are narrow. Give your hotel's full address with the booking, and we will tell you the nearest point the car can reach.
