Cologne Bonn Airport to Bergisch Gladbach: Route and Drive Time
Of all the towns near the airport, Bergisch Gladbach is one of the closest by road. It lies to the north, on wooded hills beyond the edge of the big city. The car covers the 15 km in 30–40 minutes. The figure grows when commuter traffic builds up on the roads around Cologne's eastern edge in the morning.
The town has two centres, a legacy of 1975, when Bergisch Gladbach and Bensberg were merged. Bensberg, with its Baroque palace, comes first on the way from the airport; the old centre of Bergisch Gladbach, with the S-Bahn terminus, lies further north. Refrath, on the side facing Cologne, is a third address area of its own.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Say which part of town you need when you book, because Bensberg and the town centre are separate destinations.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Cologne Bonn Airport
Cologne Bonn has a pair of terminals, and they do not serve the same airlines. Terminal 1 handles mainly Eurowings and Lufthansa flights; Ryanair and others use Terminal 2, about a ten-minute walk away on the landside. Give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.
For relatives arriving for a family celebration, the route is short, and the car goes straight to Bensberg without a change, however much luggage they bring. Tell us about pushchairs or child seats when you book, so the vehicle is ready for them.

Arriving at Your Address in Bergisch Gladbach
With about 114,000 residents, Bergisch Gladbach is the largest town in the Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis, and its addresses are spread out. In Bensberg, the palace built in the early 18th century as a hunting residence for Elector Johann Wilhelm II is now a hotel, and the car drives up to its entrance.
The old centre of Bergisch Gladbach is the end of S-Bahn line S11, so the station is a clear landmark for addresses nearby. Refrath and the residential streets towards the forest are quieter, and house numbers there are easier to find with the full postcode.
Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. For a family home that is hard to find, add a short note such as the colour of the gate.

From Bergisch Gladbach Back to Cologne Bonn Airport
For the trip back, plan by how long the drive takes: from Bensberg or the centre to the terminals, 30–40 minutes in normal traffic, longer in the morning rush around Cologne. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
The terminal is the one detail to check at the airport end. Eurowings and Lufthansa flights usually leave from Terminal 1 and Ryanair from Terminal 2, so look at your booking with the airline and pass the building on to us.
In winter, Cologne itself changes the picture. The Christmas markets open in the second half of November and run until 23 December, and Carnival peaks with Rosenmontag on 8 February 2027. On those evenings, a guest staying in Bergisch Gladbach who goes into Cologne should book the trip back early.
