Airport Transfers from Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) to Berlin

One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: Terminal 2 to a hotel by the Hauptbahnhof, Terminal 1 to the CityCube on Messedamm, or an office in the government district to BER for an evening flight. For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time; for a departure, you set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: Terminal 1 or 2 to a hotel near the Messe or in Mitte on arrival, and back to BER once the fair, the summit or the shoot is over. In the fair weeks, Berlin's cars are spoken for early, so the return is best fixed on the day you land. With both directions in one booking, the return is secured from the start; you set both pickup times yourself, and the confirmation lists them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at BER, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

Berlin Brandenburg Airport to Berlin: Route and Drive Time

BER stands in Schönefeld, just beyond the south-eastern city boundary, and the drive into Berlin covers 25 km in 35–45 minutes. The car takes the A113 motorway towards the centre; once it leaves the motorway, the city streets decide how fast the rest goes.

Berlin has several centres, so the last kilometres differ a great deal. The exhibition grounds under the Funkturm are on the western side, about 31 km from the terminals and 35–45 minutes away, because the car has to cross or skirt the whole city to get there. The government district, in the bend of the Spree, lies between the airport road and the fair.

Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Name your terminal and the full address when you book; for the Messe, add the hall or the entrance you need.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Berlin Brandenburg Airport

BER runs two terminals, and you can walk from one to the other. Terminal 1 is the main building, Ryanair operates mainly from Terminal 2, and the old Schönefeld building, later called Terminal 5, has closed for good. As a ticket can name either one, give your terminal in the booking and the car goes there.

On arrival, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules.

The scale of the airport explains the planning: in 2025 it counted 26.05 million passengers. A booked car takes you and the bags from the terminal to the address, without the change from the FEX airport express or a regional train.

Arriving at Your Address in Berlin

The federal government works from the bend of the Spree: the Reichstag and, on Willy-Brandt-Straße, the Federal Chancellery, with parliamentary offices on both banks of the river. Berlin Hauptbahnhof is a short drive away, which helps when part of a delegation continues by train.

In the west, the Messe has 26 connected halls with 160,000 m² of floor space, and next door the CityCube on Messedamm can take congresses of up to 11,000 participants spread over three levels. On a site of that size the hall number matters, so add it to the street address.

Inside the S-Bahn ring, roughly 88 km² of the inner city form a low-emission zone (Umweltzone), open to vehicles with a green sticker. Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up.

From Berlin Back to Berlin Brandenburg Airport

For the outbound run, think in drive time rather than clock time: 35–45 minutes from the centre on an ordinary day, and longer in the evening rush or during a trade fair. You set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Check which terminal your airline uses before you set off. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are close together, yet the car pulls up at one of them only, so the building printed on your ticket is the one to give.

The city adds its own peaks. From late November, more than 60 Christmas markets draw crowds into the centre, and the Berlinale, from 10 to 21 February 2027, fills hotels and cinemas across town. A juror or an exhibitor leaving on the last day can be collected at the festival venue or the CityCube instead of the hotel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

How many long-distance stations does Berlin have?

Berlin has five main long-distance stations: the Hauptbahnhof, Südkreuz, Spandau, Gesundbrunnen and Ostbahnhof. Which of them a train uses depends on its line and direction, so read the station on the ticket; a colleague arriving by rail can be added with the train and its arrival time.

Can the ride from BER continue to Poznań?

Poznań is about 253 km from the terminals, 2 hours 45 minutes to 3 hours 45 minutes. Send the Polish street address with the booking.

Can I take the train from BER into Berlin instead?

Yes. The station lies in a tunnel beneath Terminals 1 and 2. The FEX reaches Berlin Hauptbahnhof in about 22 minutes via Südkreuz and Potsdamer Platz, while the S9 takes the other route, through Alexanderplatz towards Spandau.

Can the car take me straight to the CityCube for a congress?

Yes. The CityCube stands on Messedamm beside the exhibition grounds, so a delegate can ride from the terminal directly to the congress entrance. Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up.

Is Tegel still an airport for Berlin?

No. Tegel closed on 8 November 2020, a week after BER opened on 31 October 2020. No other commercial airport serves Berlin and Brandenburg today.

What do you need to know about Berlin Brandenburg Airport in 2026–2027?

The Grüne Woche runs from 15 to 24 January 2027, ITB moves to 16–18 March 2027 as a one-off change, and IFA follows from 3 to 7 September 2027. Plan the ride from BER around those weeks.
