Getting Around Mayrhofen
Mayrhofen is a single large village at the head of the Zillertal, where the wide valley stops and four side valleys branch off. The centre gathers round the Europahaus and the station, with the Penken and Ahorn lift bases on either side of it. Hippach lies down the valley, and Finkenberg is on the road towards the Tux valley.
Mayrhofen has a station, but not a mainline one. The Zillertalbahn is a narrow-gauge line, and long-distance trains stop at Jenbach, about 35 km down the valley. Changing there with skis and cases is the part most guests would rather skip, and a car picks you up at Jenbach instead. Give us the train and its arrival time and the car is booked to meet it.
From the village the valley opens both ways. The Hintertux glacier is about 20 km up the Tux valley, and Zell am Ziller about 12 km back down. Booked by the hour, one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you for the time you reserve, for an evening in either and the drive home afterwards.
Mayrhofen also runs a congress venue. The Europahaus Mayrhofen, Congress Zillertal, has seven event rooms, its largest hall seats 660 theatre-style, and it is 200 m from the station. If the event is in your hands, set it up in one account, and each participant receives their own car and confirmation, from the speaker off the Munich flight to the guest arriving on the last train.
Wherever you are staying in the valley, send the full address with your booking; the confirmation then tells you where the car will stop.

Airport Transfers to Mayrhofen
Innsbruck is the natural airport for Mayrhofen: about 65 km and around an hour by road. Munich and Salzburg are both about 180 km away, two to three hours by road, and worth it when their flights suit you better.
Whichever airport you use, the route meets the A12 Inntal motorway and leaves it at the Zillertal exit near Wiesing. From Innsbruck that means heading east; from Munich and Salzburg the motorway brings you west along the Inn valley. After the exit the B169 runs up the Zillertal, and it is the only road up. It carries every resort in the valley plus the Hintertux glacier traffic, which is why a winter Saturday takes longer.
Add your flight number to the booking: your chauffeur checks the flight status and times the pickup to when you actually land, and your booking confirmation shows where to meet the chauffeur. For the flight home, you set the pickup time yourself, and the confirmation shows it.

Long-Distance & Cross-Border Travel from Mayrhofen
A Zillertal week often has a second part. Innsbruck is about 65 km away, an easy run for a city break at the end, and a switch to Kitzbühel works well if the second week is booked in another resort. The Hintertux glacier is close enough to switch to for a day on the snow. By car each of these is a single booking to wherever you are going next.
Munich, about 180 km away, is where a good share of trips begin or end, and the drive crosses into Germany on the motorway beyond Kufstein. It is booked like any other journey, with one chauffeur and one vehicle from door to door and no change of car at the frontier. Germany is a Schengen country, but it currently runs temporary checks on its border with Austria, so every passenger needs the travel documents their nationality and itinerary require.

Groups, Ski Equipment & Winter Travel in Mayrhofen
The Europahaus congress calendar brings whole groups to Mayrhofen on the same days, alongside ski parties and families. For all of them, what decides the vehicle is the luggage rather than the seat count. A Sprinter van carries up to 12 people with their bags, and bigger groups go by coach, with up to 56 seats. Tell us about the skis, boards, cases and display material, and the vehicle is matched to the load. If people arrive on separate flights, every arrival gets a transfer of its own.
Winter on the Zillertal road is a matter of the right equipment, and that part is already handled. Austrian law requires winter tyres from 1 November to 15 April whenever roads are wintry, and buses are fitted with them for the whole season regardless of the weather.
Christmas, New Year and winter Saturdays fill first, when local vehicles and drivers are booked up early. For a congress with many arrivals or anything else that does not fit a standard booking, speak to support and they will put the arrangement together.
