Airport Transfers from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) to Utrecht

One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: Schiphol to the Jaarbeurs entrance opposite Utrecht Centraal, the terminal to a canal-side hotel in the Binnenstad, or an office on the edge of Utrecht back to Schiphol. For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. For a departure, the pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: Schiphol to your Utrecht hotel as your flight comes in, and a ride back to the airport on the last day of the fair. January needs the most care, because the Vakantiebeurs then takes over the Jaarbeurs halls and local vehicles and drivers are committed well ahead. You choose both pickup times, and your confirmation shows them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at AMS, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

Schiphol to Utrecht: Route and Drive Time

Utrecht is 51 km south-east of Schiphol. From the terminal the car takes the A9 east to the Holendrecht junction, south of Amsterdam, and then the A2 south towards Utrecht. Almost the whole trip is motorway, which is why it takes only 35–55 minutes, less than some shorter runs from the airport.

What moves the time is the end of the route. The A2 finishes on the western side of Utrecht among junctions that rank with the most heavily used in the country, where it meets the A12, and in the weekday peaks that stretch counts for more than the kilometres before it.

Journey times vary with traffic and weather. The Jaarbeurs and the old town are close to each other but are reached by different exits, so give the street address, or the fair and your hall, together with the flight number.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Schiphol

Exhibitors flying in for a fair at the Jaarbeurs rarely travel with suitcases alone: sample cases, poster tubes and roll-up displays come too. At Schiphol those items come off at the odd-size baggage points in the baggage hall, and only after that do you pass customs into the hall. Which of the four arrivals halls you use depends on the flight; the terminal itself is a single building.

For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules. Collecting an oversized case takes longer than walking out with a cabin bag, so list the items with the booking: the vehicle and the pickup time are then planned with them in mind.

Arriving at the Jaarbeurs or Your Address in Utrecht

Utrecht is unusual in having its main exhibition centre in the middle of town. The Jaarbeurs faces Utrecht Centraal across the station square, with the Hoog Catharijne shopping centre alongside, and its 12 halls cover about 100,000 m². A stand in the halls and a hotel by the canals are therefore only minutes apart by car.

The Binnenstad around the Oudegracht is a low-emission zone. Diesel cars need emission class 5 or higher to enter and diesel coaches class 6, whereas petrol and electric cars may drive in. For a canal-side hotel, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can get.

Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. For the fair, add the hall or entrance printed on your exhibitor pass.

From Utrecht Back to Schiphol

Leaving Utrecht, the useful thing to know is how long the road takes, not when to leave: 35–55 minutes to Schiphol, longer in heavy traffic. The pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.

The route back takes the A2 north and then the A9 west to the airport, and the Utrecht junctions at the evening peak are the part to allow for. All flights leave from the single terminal building, so the airline does not change the drop-off point.

If the stand is packed on the last afternoon of a fair, mention the returning cases and displays with the booking, so the car for the airport run has room for them. A colleague flying home a day later is a separate booking from the hotel, with his or her own pickup time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

How long is the transfer from Schiphol to Utrecht?

Utrecht is 51 km from Schiphol, and the drive usually takes 35–55 minutes: the A9 to the Holendrecht junction and then the A2. The junctions on the western edge of Utrecht are what slow the trip in the weekday peaks.

How far is the Jaarbeurs from Utrecht Centraal?

The Jaarbeurs stands directly across the station square from Utrecht Centraal, next to Hoog Catharijne. A transfer from Schiphol can go straight to the fair entrance; name the hall or entrance on your pass when you book.

We are bringing stand material. Where do we collect it at Schiphol?

Odd-size baggage comes off at separate odd-size baggage points in the baggage hall, before customs. List the cases, tubes and displays with the booking so the vehicle is matched to the load and the pickup allows for the extra time.

Can a car drive into Utrecht's city centre?

The Binnenstad is a low-emission zone: diesel cars need emission class 5 or higher and diesel coaches class 6, while petrol and electric cars may enter. For a hotel on the canals, send the full address with the booking and we will tell you how close the car can get.

Is Schiphol or Rotterdam The Hague Airport better for Utrecht?

Schiphol is closer, 51 km and 35–55 minutes, against 63 km and 55 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes from Rotterdam The Hague Airport, and it has far more routes. Book the airport your ticket shows.

Is a chauffeur service from Schiphol to Utrecht the same as a taxi?

Dutch law treats paid passenger transport by car as taxi transport, chauffeur services booked in advance included; above eight passengers, the rules for private coach transport apply. What differs is the arrangement: the ride is booked before you travel instead of taken at a taxi rank, the vehicle and time are settled when you book, and your confirmation says where to meet. On an airport pickup the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time.
