Pisa Airport to Forte dei Marmi: Route and Drive Time
Forte dei Marmi is 43 km north of Pisa Airport. The car picks up the A12 beside the airport and follows it up the coast past Viareggio, then leaves the motorway for the resort. The drive usually takes 45 minutes to 1 hour.
The motorway section runs well most of the year. The time is decided on the final kilometres along the seafront road, which fills up on summer weekends, and by where your address lies: a hotel near the centre of Forte dei Marmi comes first, a villa towards the edge of town or inland at Querceta takes a little longer.
Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Next to the flight number, write the villa or hotel name and its street, since several properties in Forte dei Marmi are known by name more than by number.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Pisa Airport
Pisa's single passenger terminal has one arrivals area, so every airline delivers you to the same hall. You reach the hall after baggage reclaim, a few steps from the exit to the car parks.
For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules. For a villa guest arriving with a summer's worth of cases, beach equipment and perhaps a pushchair, that is one meeting and one vehicle loaded once.
The terminal is being extended in 2026 and 2027. Arrivals are moving to a new building once ENAC has signed it off, and the old hall will serve departures.

Arriving at Your Villa or Hotel in Forte dei Marmi
Forte dei Marmi is a small town with a long seafront, and most stays are a week or less: in the first eleven months of 2025 the average was 4.6 nights. Most hotels are on or near the sea; the villas are spread through the residential roads further back, where the house name matters as much as the street.
On a summer Saturday, changeover day for many rentals, the seafront road is at its busiest. If your rental agent has given you an arrival window, choose your flight and your pickup with it in mind.
Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. If you are joining friends who already have a car, the destination can equally be a beach club on the seafront; give its name and the street it is on.

From Forte dei Marmi Back to Pisa Airport
Leaving Forte dei Marmi, the useful thing to know is how long the road takes, not when to leave: 45 minutes to 1 hour to Pisa Airport, longer in heavy traffic. The pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.
On summer Sundays the A12 south towards Pisa carries the weekend traffic back from the coast, and the seafront road is slow before you reach it. Allow for both when you pick the time, and name your airline when you book.
The last day can also end elsewhere. If you want a final night in Lucca, 36 km away, book the villa to Lucca first and Lucca to the airport the next day. For a flight from Florence, the airport there is 103 km from Forte dei Marmi, 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes.
