Airport Transfers from Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) to Barcelona

One-Way Transfer
A one-way transfer covers one journey between two addresses: T1 to a hotel by Fira Montjuïc, T2 to a ship on the Adossat quay, or the CCIB back to the airport. For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. For a departure, the pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.
Round-Trip Service
Round-Trip Service books both directions in one reservation: El Prat to your hotel when your flight lands, and from the hotel to the right terminal when you fly out. Around MWC in March and Smart City Expo in November, cars and drivers in Barcelona are booked up early, so put the return leg in the first booking. You choose both pickup times, and your confirmation shows them.
Hourly Service
Hourly service keeps one chauffeur and one vehicle with you for a set number of hours. When you book, you set the start at BCN, the final address and the hours you need, and you add the day's plan to the reservation so the chauffeur has it before your flight lands. It suits an arrival day with appointments, not a straight run to one hotel.

Barcelona Airport to Barcelona: Route and Drive Time

Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport lies in El Prat de Llobregat, about 15 km from the centre of Barcelona to the south-west. From the terminals the car takes the C-31 towards the city, and for many addresses the Ronda Litoral at the Barcelona end. The drive usually takes 20–40 minutes.

Over 15 km, distance barely separates one trip from another. What moves the time between the two ends of that range is the Ronda Litoral and the last streets before your door, and the hour at which you reach them. Fira Gran Via, about 12 km from the terminals, comes before the city proper on the way in.

Journey times vary with traffic and weather. Give the street and number, not just the district, along with the flight: the car is booked to the door you name.

Meeting Your Chauffeur at Barcelona Airport

Barcelona Airport has two terminals, T1 and T2, in separate buildings some 4 km apart, with no footpath linking the two; T2 is itself divided into T2A, T2B and T2C. Aena assigns terminals by airline, not by where the flight comes from, so two delegates landing from different cities may come out 4 km apart. Check the terminal in your airline booking and give it with the flight number: the car then goes to that building.

For arrivals, the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time. Your booking confirmation tells you where to meet, and the exact spot follows the airport's own pickup rules. If a colleague lands at the other terminal, a shuttle links T1 and T2 every six to eleven minutes around the clock, or each arrival can have a car of its own.

Current works are small in scale: Aena tendered an adaptation of T2 in March 2026 and new lifts and escalators there in January 2026, and neither closes the terminal. The large expansion is not due on site before 2028.

Arriving at Your Address in Barcelona

Barcelona's low emission zone, the ZBE Rondes, covers more than 95 km² inside the Ronda de Dalt and the Ronda Litoral, and also takes in L'Hospitalet, on weekdays from 07:00 to 20:00. Cameras read number plates, and the ring roads themselves are outside the zone. El Prat de Llobregat, where the airport stands, has enforced a zone of its own since 1 January 2025.

Congress visitors divide between two Fira venues: Gran Via in L'Hospitalet, whose nine halls host MWC Barcelona, and Montjuïc, on Plaça d'Espanya, one kilometre from Sants station. The CCIB, on the seafront in the 22@ district, is a third address. A cruise leaves from one of seven passenger terminals: WTC Barcelona is on the Barcelona quay and the other six on the Adossat quay, and the port asks passengers to check which one their ship uses.

Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up. For a ship, the terminal named in the cruise documents is the address.

From Barcelona Back to El Prat

Leaving Barcelona, the useful thing to know is how long the road takes, not when to leave: 20–40 minutes to the terminals, longer in heavy traffic. The pickup time you choose is confirmed with the reservation.

When you book, say which terminal you fly from. T1 and T2 are 4 km apart and the terminal follows the airline, so the chauffeur takes you to the right building. If a congress team flies out on two airlines, that can mean two drop-offs, and two bookings.

A trip that ends with a cruise can be booked from the ship's terminal on the Adossat quay straight to El Prat, the disembarkation morning and the flight in one transfer. A stay that ends with a high-speed train works the same way, with Barcelona-Sants as the drop-off instead of the airport.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your airport transfer with Bookinglane.

How long is the transfer from Barcelona Airport to the city centre?

El Prat lies 15 km from the city centre, to the south-west; on the C-31 and the Ronda Litoral the drive usually takes 20–40 minutes. The hour you land, more than the distance, decides where in that range you arrive.

How many airports does Barcelona have?

Two serve the city: Barcelona-El Prat, 15 km from the centre, and Girona-Costa Brava, about 90 km north, 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes by road. Girona runs a seven-month summer schedule, mostly low-cost and charter flights; El Prat is the main airport.

Which terminal will I arrive at in Barcelona?

T1 or T2, two separate buildings about 4 km apart. Aena assigns terminals by airline rather than by origin, so check your airline booking; give the terminal when you book, and the car goes to that building.

What happens if my flight to Barcelona is late?

The pickup moves with it: the chauffeur tracks your flight and plans the pickup around the real landing time.

Can a car take us from the airport straight to the cruise terminal?

Yes. Give the terminal your ship uses as the address: the port has seven passenger terminals, six on the Adossat quay and WTC Barcelona on the Barcelona quay. Your cruise documents name the terminal.

Does Barcelona's low emission zone matter for an airport transfer?

It is worth being aware of. The ZBE Rondes covers the city inside the ring roads on weekdays from 07:00 to 20:00, the ring roads themselves excluded, and El Prat de Llobregat has a zone of its own. Give the exact address when you book, and your confirmation shows where the car will pull up.
